5th Annual Pre-Imagine MageHackathon 2017 - Las Vegas
Note: This is a community event and not an official Magento event!
If you are a Magento Developer coming to Las Vegas for the Magento Imagine conference you are welcome to register for this Hackathon. We are anticipating reaching capacity early based on the number of people that have registered for the Imagine conference. Please sign up early if you can attend.
Who should attend?
Any experienced developer with a Magento background.
Why should I attend?
This is meant to be a fun event for developers from the Magento Community to get together, enjoy food, drink and coding on those projects that are most interesting to you. Bring your own ideas and projects or join a different team!
The main point of a hackathon is to take your time and work on something that you have been meaning to get to or to solve problems that others may have and and might be covered up with a few dirty fixes or postponed to the next less busy day (which never comes). This is not meant to be a "bugfixing" session.
Finally, you'll recieve a Magento Hackathon T-Shirt (along with some other cool SWAG) so you can show everyone just how #realmagento you are.
But what about the 5k run?
The 5k run will take place Sunday at a TBD time. We're currently working with the organizers to ensure maximum participation in both events.
How should I prepare/what should I bring?
Don't forget your laptop! We'll be using Github to track projects, so having an account there will be helpful. It will also be helpful to have a Magento development environment set with Magento installed and ready to go ahead of the event, to avoid spending most of the time getting that working (we're all guilty).
Note: Magento just released the beta for their officiallly supported devbox - download here: https://magento.com/tech-resources/download
I want to help with Magento DevDocs. Can I still attend?
Yes! Like last year, the Docathon and Hackathon will be in the same room, to double the fun. Please indicate if you are planning to participate in the Docathon when you purchase your ticket.
