Bank of America Trading Application Hackathon

UCLFINDS, Le Wagon & DataSpartan are proud to partner up with Bank of America Merril Lynch to deliver a 2 day Coding Challenge Hackathon Event to provide you with an insight into the world of financial markets software development.

The challenge will focus on creating a web trading application that BAML traders could use to help them find and uncover new market opportunities. This app could stream real time price feed information or leverage multiple sources of data combining it into a streamlined user interface. It could also incorporate elements of machine learning to simplify the decision making process for traders. You will be free to use any programming language, any UI technology and any open-source libraries. The exact details of the challenge won’t be released until the day. Teams of up to 4 are allowed. You can come as a team or a singleton – we’ll form teams on the day. Refreshment and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided throughout the day.

Their market advantage is the incorporation of recognised academic research with cost effective and highly productive human capital to produce the results our clients require. DS uses their academic networks and relationships with UCL and Imperial as well as their extensive internal database to source the best talent within the finance industry.

Le Wagon is a coding school which was created in 2013 by an ex-Google engineer and an ex-HSBC engineer. They designed a 9-week coding bootcamp during which students - who have no prior coding knowledge - learn how to code in Ruby on Rails, Javascript, HTML and CSS. By the end of the 9 weeks, students have developed a full-fledged web product, live and fully functional. We now have more than 2,000 alumni around the world, we're in 24 cities worldwide!
