Blockchain and Identity Hackathon

This unique Hackathon on Blockchain and Identity is running as part of the Future of Identity Conference - www.futureofidentity.org - which is bringing to Tallinn global experts on Blockchain, Identity, Security and more. The hackathon is run by blockchain experts from Berlin and New York. 

The hackathon is focused on creative mashups of Estonian e-identity with new blockchain & decentralization tech, for target applications in identity, supply chain, IoT, financial, energy, and creative industries. 

It will start on Sept 2nd evening. Hackers are get a free ticket to the exclusive networking drinks after the conference, followed by a 1.5 hour idea brainstorming session. On Sep 3rd there is a full day of hacking and building, with pitches in the evening. The hackathon will be coordinated by decentralization / blockchain tech leaders Juan Benet of IPFS (https://ipfs.io/), from New York, and Trent McConaghy of BigchainDB (www.bigchaindb.com), from Berlin. Conference speakers and attendees will be at the launch event for networking with hackers. 

Questions hackathon participants could pursue include:

  • Which blockchain & decentralized applications could be unleashed if we had better-defined identity or other government-certified information?
  • How can Estonian e-identity tools & vision help solve specific problems in blockchain & dec target applications?
  • What new tools can help to spread the example of Estonian e-identity to the rest of the world, and to help improve the Estonian e-identity program?
  • How can decentralization, immutability, “living” assets, smart contracts help?

--> The event officially starts with a kick-off brainstorming session on Sept 2nd at 6pm at eEstonia Showroom, Lõõtsa 2a, Tallinn and the main part (hackathon) is happening the next day at Teleport's office at Lõõtsa 8.
