Disrupt Hackathon: Operation Save the Earth

Disrupt Hackathon: Operation Save the Earth is a 1-day competition where ideas are given life, teams are formed, and the best business concept wins. Participants are exposed to the different aspects of the startup business process. They must go from inception to design to testing, validating their ideas every step of the way. The experience of meeting and collaborating with other like-minded peers and mentors will create a lasting impact. As a tribute to our environment for Earth Day, we are asking participants to build an app or website that will better our planet. Lunch will be provided.

FAQs

Do I need to know how to code?

No! No experience is necessary. You will learn to code as you build your projects.

How much does it cost to register?

This is a free event. There is no registration fee. We just ask that you register on this page to confrim your spot. 

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

The competition is open to students age 11-17.

What can I bring into the event?

Participants are asked to bring a laptop, but they are not required.

What do developers/designers do?

The developers and designers are asked to lead a team of 4 kids or less to help them build an app or website of their own design. They will work with the team the whole day for them to have a final demo for the judges at the end. 

How are the teams broken up?

Teams are broken up into groups of 4. They can already have picked their teams or allow us to divide them ourselves. They are all lead by a developer and/or a designer.
