From Sep 29th 2015
To Oct 1st 2015

Description

Join a great team of developers to rapidly expand the amount of content available via the IIIF Image and Presentation APIs! Over three days (29 Sept - 1 Oct) in Philadelphia, we intend to:

Collect, review and improve existing shims that make systems compatible

Implement as many new shims as we can, based on existing work

Natively implement IIIF into systems we can feed back to or control

Explore what should come next for IIIF, based on real implementation needs

Breakfast will be supplied by IIIF, but otherwise all expenses are the responsibility of the attendee.  Some, limited funding may be available to ensure a wide cross-section of the IIIF technical community can attend.

Further logistics and information will be available at:  http://iiif.io/event/2015/philadelphia.html

An incomplete list of target systems to work with, as time and familiarity allows:

Please note that the Pope is visiting Philadelphia the weekend before, and that there may be significant travel disruption on Sunday 27th and Monday 28th.  It is expected that starting on Tuesday will alleviate this issue.  If people are intending to arrive on Sunday or Monday morning, there is an opportunity to have a smaller group meet for planning or other IIIF related activities.  Details of the visit:  http://www.worldmeeting2015.org/papal-visit/ and news coverage: http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/major-philadelphia-jersey-bridge-close-pope-visit-32905499
