Description

WHO WE ARE?

Legal Hackers is a global movement of lawyers, policymakers, technologists, and academics who explore and develop creative solutions to some of the most pressing issues at the intersection of law and technology. Through local meetups, hackathons, and workshops, Legal Hackers spot issues and opportunities where technology can improve and inform the practice of law and where law, legal practice, and policy can adapt to rapidly changing technology.

LEGAL HACKERS IN BRAZIL

This is our first meetup in Brazil and our goal is to gather all legal startups, lawyers, and everyone involved in legal tech together in the same room.

There are companies attempting to disrupt the legal space at every level and from every angle. And for a good reason. While legal still hasn’t caught up with other industries — either in terms of funding or widespread adoption— the future is bright and coming at us fast, especially in big markets such as the United States and Brazil.

Legal has been a tough nut to crack because of significant non-uniform regulation and risk-averse, disaggregated stakeholders. These factors have slowed disruption. But change is inevitable: consumers are demanding more efficient, transparent and affordable legal services, and lawyers are looking for cutting-edge ways to compete in an oversaturated market.

There are three areas in the Brazilian legal space on the precipice of major disruption in 2016: DIY, Legal Marketplaces and High-tech tools for legal management.

Want to know how those things are going to change the way you work today? Join us.
