Monash MYHACK: Countering Violent Extremism

Monash GENERATOR is bringing in the MYHACK team to Melbourne to run a hackathon on countering violent extremism (CVE). In teams, participants will address the issue of CVE by coming up with innovative solutions to the problem.

The winning team will receive a trip to Google in Sydney and training in Monash's ACCELERATOR program. During the ACCELERATOR you’ll learn and apply the leadership and commercial practices required to grow and scale your venture. You’ll be mentored by a talented team of experts, business leaders and seasoned entrepreneurs. And, you’ll finish the six weeks tightly packaged, ready for investment.

MYHACK is a merging of minds to develop evidence based solutions to contemporary issues of primary concern. The event brings together groups of young people (Hack Teams) to utilise their skills, knowledge and knowhow to develop innovative solutions to countering violent extremism.

The MYHACK process is made up of three unique stages where the practice of design thinking is used to generate new products through a process which translates understanding and ideas into tangible outcomes.
