Slingshot Hackathon

Slingshot is a Hackathon weekend inspired by acceleration and collision.

Collaboration will act as a cornerstone during Slingshot as Computer Science collides with Business and Entrepreneurship to empower students and young professionals to overcome challenges around the themes of Open Data and Blockchain technology.

Attendees of Slingshot will form cross-disciplinary teams in order to tackle challenges surrounding one or both of the two themes. Attendees will gain new skills by having the opportunity to work with on-site mentors across multiple fields and attend professional workshops.

Schedule Overview

Friday

• Doors open at Planet Hatch starting from 6:30PM, close at midnight. 
  
• Attendees will form teams and determine which project to tackle.
  
• A workshop will be provided by local experts in the field of Open Data.
  
• Dinner and refreshments provided.

Saturday

• Doors open at Wu Convention Centre starting from 8:00AM, close at midnight.
  
• Teams will meet-up and continue work on their chosen project.
  
• A workshop will be provided by local experts in the field of blockchain and cryptocurrency applications.
  
• Light breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided.
  

Sunday

• Doors open at Planet Hatch starting from 8:00AM, close at midnight.
• Teams will have a final workslot to complete and tweaks on their projects.
• Teams will demo projects.
• A recap and closing statements with awards and achievements will wrap up festivities.
• Light breakfast, lunch, and healthy snacks will be provided.
