VRoKCs, a collaborative project between virtual reality and augmented reality professionals and Kansas City Area schools to bring VR/AR learning to K-12 students. Join us for the first VRoKCs hackathon where students and enthusiasts can learn how to develop immersive applications and build education related VR/AR experiences. Professional developers will mentor and guide students as they learn various VR/AR development tools and software. This hackathon is a great opportunity for challenging and educating students who are interested in learning while collaborating and communicating with other enthusiasts and developers.

Event Details:  

Day 1 - December 15th 2017 at respective schools 

Problem statement, team formation, designing & storyboarding a solution  


Day 2 - December 16th 2017 (8:00 am to 5:00 pm) at UMKC School of Education
Teams come together and work with VR/AR mentors to build their VR/AR experience or solution


Day 3 - December 17th 2017 (8:00 am to 12:00 pm) at UMKC School of Education 

Final presentations and showcase to community

NOTE: This event is geared toward education for high school students. Everyone is welcome to learn, but the main participants are grades 9-12.

Bring your VR hardware, computer, laptop, or any device that you have that you would like to use to develop! Mentors will be available to help teach VR platforms like Unity, Unreal Engine, and A-Frame.
