This is a free, hands-on workshop to enable participants to create a database driven web application with Flask (a microframework for Python) and SQLAlchemy (a Python SQL toolkit) using a Computational Thinking process.  On completion, participants will be able to teach their students how to create a simple web application using Python, Flask and SQLAlchemy as part of KS3-KS5 curriculum. The workshop will cover databases, networks, web applications and GUI aspects of the KS3-KS5 CS curriculum. You will learn how to use Flask and SQLAlchemy libraries, set up Python environment. display and get data with HTML forms, work with CRUD database actions, and putting all of these together (Web app + HTML + database) to create a simple database driven web application. The workshop is open to secondary school Computer Science teachers of with a basic to intermediary level of Python programming skills. No prior experience with SQLAlchemy and Flask is required. Attendees should bring their own laptops. All attendees will receive free individual access to Codio and course materials for 12 months. The workshop duration is 3 hours including a 30 min networking session with free snacks and refreshments.

Hackingfest is a hackathon series for software, hardware developers and designers to come and participate in a project to improve life. There will be seminars and conferences held to become familiar with the issues and technologies so you can get the opportunity to develop projects with the hackingfest technologies. At the end of the event, applications will be evaluated by the jury, you can start your project before the hackathon, but if you did, please inform the event organizers about the status of your project while participating in the event. This is an eight-week workshop focuses on both the technical and design related skills needed to create fully responsive web sites for screens, tablets, and mobile devices. This workshop is the perfect starting point if you aren't familiar with coding, no previous web programming or design skills are required. By the end of the workshop you will have learned how to write HTML code and style it with CSS, build fully functional web pages from scratch, create fully responsive web pages for screens, tablets, and phones, build websites with popular Frameworks like Bootstrap, and code contact forms using PHP and the benefits of running a local web server.

This is a hackathon on Internet of Things (IoT) to collect and retrieve data from Internet-connected sensors. Participants interested in coding mobile apps or hacking hardware solutions will get to widen their community and will be challenged to build Smart City applications using local government data, APIs and any hardware of their choosing. At this Hackathon developers will have approximately 24 hours to turn their ideas into applications using their own programming skills and design, working in teams of 4 people, with the support of experts. Teams will be free to use any programming language in order to develop applications that improve the community. What you will need is your laptop with charger, cell phone charger, gadgets, blanket or sleeping bag for the night, personal cleaning articles. Join the FremantleMedia Website Hackathon to reimagine the TV show website. This event is inviting all developers and designers to build a website experience for TV fans using code from Wordpress.org and our API partners. The new site will be for FremantleMedia North America, a separate site from the current FremantleMedia site.
