Collaborate to create solutions for social problems such as politics, garbage collection, mobility. You'll have the opportunity to have your prototype solutions validated by experts and also to present them to potential angel investors and accelerators.

Houston Inventors is proud to present the PowerUp Houston Hackathon this year at the Mini Maker Faire. The theme will be sustainability to further our efforts as a society in conserving energy and water. Both hardware and software projects are allowed, and the venue will provide access to Rapid Prototyping equipment like 3D printers. Participation is limited to highschool and college students only.

Come and participate in StatFest 2016 - Illuminating Statistics via Dashboard, a hackathon sponsored by the Columbia University Statistics Club. You'll collaborate to use Rstudio to create innovative dashboards for visualizing statistical concepts, so that they are accessible to the general public.

You'll get to collaborate with like-minded women—and men—in an effort to build creative solutions to realize the potential of the female half of our world population! You'll be asked to hack a solution to one of the following challenges: Health: Help women access health resources to ensure that they can have successful careers, regardless of whether or not they choose to have children, or Safety: Help ensure that women can be safe when they go to, are at, and come home from work, or Economic Empowerment: Help women gain financial literacy and access the resources they need to grow their businesses, or Culture: Help women access better mentorship and feel less isolated in the workplace.
