Hackers and open source supporters! Sign up to be part of Hacktoberfest 2016! This is a month-long celebration of open source. Participate and help move an open source project forward. Maybe it's a project that you use and you want to give back, or perhaps it's a project new to you! You don't have to be a super coder to be part of this—bug fixes and documentation updates are a great way to contribute.

Softchoice invites female employees, customers, partners and students to participate in the first ever Softchoice Women in Technology Hackathon. You'll spend a day of invention, collaboration, and imagination in one of Softchoice's offices across Canada and the USA. Working in a group, you will create a concept for a product, service or initiative that will improve the lives of disadvantaged young women and girls in communities around the world.

Consider a new Netherlands, where from 2019, the management of the whole physical environment has been merged and simplified into one Environmental Planning Act. But now technology is needed to help realize the goals of this new law. Come participate in the ‘Redesign the Netherlands in 48 hours’ hackathon and create ideas to make the Netherlands more pleasant and livable! You will work with data from the province of North Brabant, Municipality of Eindhoven and DataLand to solve one of four specific challenges.

Collaborate with like-minded people in an effort to build creative digital solutions to realize the potential of the female half of our world population! You'll be asked to hack a solution to one of the following challenges: Health: Help women access health resources to ensure that they can have successful careers, regardless of whether or not they choose to have children. Safety: Help ensure that women can be safe when they; go to, are at, and come home from, work. Economic Empowerment: Help women gain financial literacy and access the resources they need to grow their businesses. Culture: Help women access better mentorship and feel less isolated in the workplace.
