Qeyno Labs is launching 3rd for Black Male Achievement Hackathon with their mission is to transform children's lives and empower them through education, social innovation, and technology. A majority of youth participants, will include male Black, Latino, Native-American and under-represented Asian and Pacific Islanders and will be inclusive of transgender youth, women, and girls. They will spend three days on teams working alongside adult professionals supporting them as they build websites and mobile apps that will positively impact their community and improve their life outcomes. My Sister's Keeper Initiative (MSK) will let young women attending the majority-male hackathon have encouraging and supportive mentors through to be build apps that they feel will improve the life outcomes of young men of color, but through their genius, their leadership, and their designs.

HackForGood is a 2 day Hackathon to solve a social challenge and learn from your experience. Programmers, entrepreneurs, graphic designers, sociologists, psychologists, ... are all invited to form teams and develop a prototype or a proposal for an application that will serve the good.

The #UX4Change Hackathon invites you to come and create personas to design sustainable technology for a humanitarian cause. You will take on the challenge of creating personas that reflect women like pregnant young Syrian refugees from Aleppo who have no access to vital pre-natal information. UX for Change is partnering with the HaBaby app team which supports pregnant refugees during their journey through different countries by providing a list of symptoms, actions to take and multilingual support in order to ease the communication with health care providers, who may or may not speak their language.  You will learn how to create personas for HaBaby and work with Subject Matter Experts (SEMs) available during the event to shape the HaBaby project design decisions. There will be prizes for the best team as well as digital badges for participating in the event.

This Hackathon will focus on coding and programming for youth.  Teaching middle schoolers the exciting parts of modern web app development, using emerging industry standard tools like jQuery, PhoneGap, Node. Kids who have an interest in Minecraft will also enjoy learning about how they can use code to generate the beginnings of interactive functions on-screen in a browser based group of tasks and learn about modern web app development focused on HTML5 and JavaScript.
