Techie-minded individuals -- aged 15 and over -- in and around College Station, Texas! The City of College Station invites you to participate in the second Civic CodeFest! Come with a team of about 4 people, or join one at the event. In this 24-hour event, you'll be challenged to conceive and prototype an innovative digital solution that will be helpful to the College Station community. Present your project in an initial round of judging for the chance to go forward to the final round. The top ten teams will present their projects to the judges for the chance to win a cool prize and a valuable connection to the event sponsors.

Techies in Belgium! Are you self-isolating at home and want to fight boredom? Would you like to help people who are on the front-line of coronavirus battle, or maybe people who -- like you -- are sheltering in place? If so, then the Microsoft Innovation Center invites you to participate in the Stay The F *** At Home Hackathon. We are all severely hit by the Coronavirus. These are times when a sense of community and greater good should help. At a nationwide and international scale, governments and structures in place are beginning to set up emergency measures. But at a local scale, Essteem hopes that our community can help tackle the many challenges that those are the most affected are beginning to face: people over 60 in need of care, medical community and sick people in need of support, kids who need education, parent-work life balance, people feeling lonely or anxious, and homeless people. These are the 5 Challenge Themes that we want to address in this Equalithon. To ensure the deployment, propagation and use of the winning Solutions, we will rely on this community of women, non-binary and allies; moms, dads, and singles; friends, colleagues, and connections; to spread the word to anyone potentially interested in developing, deploying and using the apps! If you cannot afford the engagement required by an Equalithon (a week of coding), there will be a series of “hacknights” that could be of interest. If you're interested in how technology can be used to counter the threat of the coronavirus, then the Starfish Community invites you to help fund the Hack Covid-19 virtual hackathon -- covering the cost of prizes, event production, and event organization. At Hack Covid-19, participants will be asked to tackle an urgent challenge such as: - How to ensure access to medical equipment, - How to manage symptoms/diagnosis, - Supplies/outbreak visualization, or - Reducing the impact of social isolation in communities.
